DIY Tennis Skirt

DIY Tennis Skirt

The Tennis skirt trend has been my current obsession, so I decided to make one! I found a piece of cloth that my mom bought at the thrift store a while back and turned it into a Tennis skirt. It took about half a day... Actually a little over.. about 14 hours and 45 minutes. This was spread out in a weeks time. I had a lot of difficulty trying to make it fit my waist so that took up most of the time. Once I got it to work, the rest was easy.
I got the pattern from Q2HAN. You can check out their Tennis skirt tutorial here.
They do a lot of different tutorials on Youtube, so you guys should definitely go check their channel out!
Enough of my talking and let's get to the pictures. Here is the outcome of my Tennis skirt:

  • I'm still a beginner sewer so my stitches aren't perfect, but they work.

  • I held the skirt together with a zipper and clasp. I couldn't find any invisible zipper that was the same color as my skirt, so I had to work with a white one.

You can tuck in your shirt/sweater or just simply wear it over the skirt.

This project was one of the harder ones and might prove difficult if your a beginner, like me, but don't let it limit you! Most Tennis skirts being sold are wayyy too expensive anyways. (ex: American Apperal for $54)  I got my skirt for under $5-7. A totaal steal right here.
